- Act as the main contact for drivers after hours.
- Respond promptly to driver calls/texts regarding breakdowns, route changes, delays, or emergencies.
- Provide directions, updates, and guidance to keep freight moving safely and on schedule.
- Respond to customer calls/emails regarding shipment status and updates.
- Communicate proactively on delays or service issues with professionalism.
- Monitor active loads and update tracking systems (TMS, Google Sheets, Excel Sheets, etc.).
- Re-power loads if necessary by coordinating with available drivers.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of load updates and incident reports.
- Actively book freight on leftover or available trucks to maximize fleet utilization.
- Leverage load boards, broker relationships, or direct customer freight to cover trucks.
- Negotiate rates and confirm load details within company guidelines.
- Handle breakdowns, accidents, or compliance issues according to company SOP.
- Contact roadside assistance, repair vendors, or towing services as needed.
- Escalate urgent issues to management when required.
- Verify drivers remain compliant with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of communications, updates, and incident logs.
- Support safe driving policies and enforce company standards.

- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations calmly.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or customer service is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions during after-hours operations.
