TUI is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company globally, and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.As a Data Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team or a practice team that enables data engineering skills and capabilities across a whole domain. Being an enthusiast in data engineering, with a strong DevSecOps mindset, you’ll use your excellent collaboration skills to work with your team to deliver the best answers to our customers’ needs with full responsibility for its data flows from design to operation. You care diligently about the quality of your work, including proper documentation and security aspects.Responsibilities
- Work on data collection, data pipelines, data delivery to other systems, and building a strong core data warehouse
- Support Data Analysts and Scientists with engineering tasks
- Research, evaluate and test new approaches, processes and tools and help teams to use them effectively
- Contribute to Communities of Practice and shared initiatives
- Promote technical excellence, ownership, and self-organization
- Stay current with industry trends and continuously learn
- Ability to design, implement and use different database structures
- Must have advanced SQL skills, Python knowledge a bonus, plus data profiling skills
- Experience with building ETL/ELT pipelines
- Hands on experience with modern data storage systems (e.g. AWS, S3, Snowflake)
- Good conversion of high-level business & technical requirements into technical specs
- Feeling comfortable in using cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
- High level skills in documentation of all work undertaken
- Upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English
