We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to manage and scale our mission-critical database infrastructure. With our rapid business growth, we need a skilled professional to ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of our PostgreSQL databases.Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and optimize PostgreSQL 14+ databases.
  • Manage a multi-terabyte PostgreSQL database running on physical hardware.
  • Handle backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Support and optimize complex database structures, including triggers, stored procedures, and partitioning.
  • Troubleshoot production performance issues quickly and effectively.
  • Conduct performance tuning for a high-OLTP transaction database handling 100M+ transactions per day.
  • Set up monitoring and alerts for disk space, CPU usage, and IO contention.
  • Ensure database security through role-based and fine-grained access control.
  • Work with PostgreSQL operators on Kubernetes for database management.
  • Take initiative in identifying and resolving database issues proactively.
Upcoming Projects
  • Migrate PostgreSQL 14 to PostgreSQL 16.
  • Transition on-premise PostgreSQL to AWS.
  • Optimize and migrate large historical tables (billions of rows) through partitioning and purging.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Extensive PostgreSQL administration experience (v14+).
  • Strong Linux expertise, particularly Debian, for production servers.
  • Hands-on experience with performance tuning, high-transaction OLTP databases, and replication techniques.
  • Advanced security knowledge and experience implementing access controls.
  • Experience with Kubernetes-based PostgreSQL deployments.
  • Self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to take initiative.
