About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced VAT Supervisor with deep practical knowledge of VAT regulations in an international mkt. In this role, you will lead the resolution of UK VAT-related issues for a key global engagement, develop and implement best-practice VAT processes, and later contribute to a new statutory reporting (STAT) initiative.We trust you to:
  • Lead and support the resolution of complex VAT compliance issues
  • Design and implement structured VAT compliance processes for international mkt operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and operations teams to ensure compliance
  • Partner with the Finance service team to align tax processes with business goals
  • Guide and support the client throughout VAT audits and complex VAT investigations performed by tax authorities
  • Prepare to contribute to the upcoming statutory project with a focus on VAT compliance
  • Communicate updates and risks clearly to stakeholders and leadership
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in VAT, with significant practical expertise in VAT for international mkts.
  • In-depth understanding of UK VAT and general understanding of EU VAT legislation, VAT accounting, and VAT reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and summarize large volumes of complex VAT-related data accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships, as well as communicate effectively with tax authorities representatives.
  • Proven experience in direct communication with tax authorities regarding complex VAT investigations and audits, demonstrating a strong ability to manage and resolve disputes, provide detailed responses to tax authorities queries, and guide internal teams through the audit process.
  • Proven experience in building or restructuring VAT processes
  • Proven expertise working within multinational FMCG companies dealing with fast-moving physical goods
  • Highly structured and detail-oriented in approach to problem-solving and execution
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex projects across teams
