DescriptionA project involves development and maintennace of the consumer-facing video streaming website for US TV streaming network headquartered in New York, US. The company has existing media streaming web site and separate application for the iOS, Android Mobile, and other platforms.RequirementsRequired:
  • 5+ years of commercial Web programming experience developing JavaScript/TypeScript websites, applications, and user interfaces
  • 4+ years experience using React.js and strong foundation in core React.js principles.
  • Highly proficient in JavaScript / ES6 and the Document Object Model
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Experience writing unit tests using tools such as Jest, mocha, jasmine or equivalent
  • Good written and verbal English skills – ability to communication with international team members
Nice to have:
  • Experience with analytics libraries (any of ComScore, Yobora, Amplitude, Nielsen, Heartbeat, MediaMelon, Resonate, etc.)
  • Experience with video streaming websites
  • Experience with video player components (e.g. Video.js, THEOplayer)
  • Experience with subscriptions or other e-commerce systems
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Experience with Next.js
Job responsibilities
  • Build innovative features for the video streaming website
  • Code, test, document and deliver features with cross-browser compatibility, accessibility
  • Determine the strategic and tactical direction of the front-end architecture
  • Participate in Agile development process, including scoping, technical design, estimation effort, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance and support
  • Collaborate with program managers, marketing, designers, software engineers in tests to build and enhance the UI
  • Innovate and create the best user experience online
