DescriptionThe “Reduce TMC Variants” projectThis project aims to migrate all Talend legacy environments to Qlik-managed environments. This project implies upgrading and migrating all components managed by the Network and Runtime team.The SRE RoleJoin Qlik teams responsible for operating mission-critical components and applications in production as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).Your foundational contributions will empower global R&D teams to deliver highly scalable, efficient, observable, and resilient micro-services, supporting mission-critical use cases for thousands of high-profile customers worldwide. As part of our technological evolution, your work will shape the growth and success of our cloud ecosystem.The teamsWe are looking for a contractor to support Observability team during this transition.What makes this mission interesting?
  • Implement a robust migration process from Elastic Search to Splunk
  • All the tooling is mainly based on Kubernetes and managed with ArgoCD. For complex operations, we used Terraform. You will use day-to-day industry-standard tools

RequirementsExpected skills
  • Proven experience with mission-critical/no-downtime deployment and upgrades on Kubernetes-managed applications or components. Ideal java based applications.
  • Familiar with Splunk or any similar log management technology (ELK, Dynatrace…)
  • Proven experience working with containerization technologies like Docker containers and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (including experience with Helm, Flux, Traefik, Gloo, and AKS/EKS).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other IaaS/PaaS providers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in high availability environments (targeting SLA of 99.5% or higher) is a plus.
  • Strong ownership and initiative, with the ability to proactively identify and tackle technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
Job responsibilities
  • Update, complete, document, and test the migration procedures for all current Talend side applications and components logging to ElasticSearch. The target technology is Splunk. You will have to help product teams while doing this transition
  • A part of your job will be to help the team with their regular duties including the regular upgrade of the components managed by the team (Sloth, Graphan, Vector, Robusta, Thanos, Filebeat, OTL Collector, AlertManager…)
  • Develop Splunk and Grafana dashboards for auditing, visualizations, and effective monitoring of the migration.
