Caritas Switzerland works through local implementing partners in the Ukraine Crisis Response, focusing on providing technical value-added specifically in livelihoods, protection, shelter, and WASH.Project: REMARKET - Recovery and Empowerment through Market Access and Resilient Economic Transformation in UkrainePosition: Communication & Visibility SpecialistLocation: Kyiv and project locationsDuration: 1 year (with a possibility of extension)Reporting to: Senior Project Manager, Caritas Switzerland1. Background InformationThe REMARKET Project aims to strengthen Ukrainian communities and businesses by enhancing market access and fostering economic empowerment for internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and host community members, promoting stable income generation, economic stability, and social cohesion. By combining the Triple Nexus nand Market Systems Development(MSD) approaches, the project addresses immediate needs while supporting long-term income generation, economic development, and social resilience.Effective communication and visibility are essential to ensure that the project's objectives, achievements, and impact are well recognized by key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the wider public. The Communication & Visibility Specialist will play a crucial role in promoting the project's visibility, ensuring compliance with donor branding guidelines, and effectively showcasing the project's successes.2. ObjectivesThe primary objective of the Communication & Visibility Specialist is to develop and implement communication and visibility strategies that effectively promote the REMARKET Project's objectives and achievements to internal and external audiences.Specific Objectives:Develop a communication and visibility strategy that aligns with the project's goals and donor requirements under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager.Coordinate with implementing partners' communication teams to align and harmonize communication and visibility strategies within the framework of the project.Ensure that project activities and achievements are effectively communicated to key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the public.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and visibility activities.3. Scope of WorkThe Communication & Visibility Specialist will work closely with the the Senior Project Manager and partners' communication teams to ensure that all communication and visibility efforts are aligned with the overall project marketing strategy. The scope of work includes:Strategic PlanningA comprehensive Communication & Visibility Strategy document, including a detailed action plan, target audiences, key messages, and timelines, developedA communication calendar outlining scheduled activities and key milestones for visibility efforts, ensuring alignment with the project timeline.Content DevelopmentA set of branded communication materials, including brochures, newsletters, press releases, and case studies, produced and disseminated to relevant stakeholders.At least one high-quality video or multimedia content piece developed annually to showcase project activities and successes.Regular social media posts and updates on project activities, with a minimum one post every two weeks across the project's social media channels.Branding and VisibilityAll project sites, documents, and materials branded according to donor and project guidelines, ensuring visibility of the project's identity across all communications, in coordination with the Senior Project Manager.A branding and visibility checklist used to monitor and ensure compliance with donor visibility requirementsStakeholder EngagementA stakeholder engagement plan to ensure consistent and positive coverage of the project's activities.Develop press releases highlighting significant project milestones.Support the project organize and conduct workshops, meetings, or press conference to increase the project's visibility in the public domainIn agreement with the Senior Project Manager - organize one annual networking event in cooperation with project partners to increase visibility and stakeholder engagement (potentially hosted as part of another event).4. Roles & ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, develop a comprehensive communication and visibility strategy for the project, ensuring it aligns with the project's objectives and donor requirements.Oversee the creation of engaging content for various platforms, including print, digital, and social media.Ensure that all communication materials are consistent with the project's branding guidelines, in coordination with the Senior Project Manager and partners' communication teams.Facilitate effective communication within the project team and with local partners.Monitor the effectiveness of communication and visibility activities and provide regular reports to the Project Manager.5. Duration & TimelineThe Communication & Visibility Specialist will be engaged for the full duration of the project equivalent to 18 months -from September/October 2025 to July 2027, with a focus on the following key milestones:Year 1:(40 days) - Develop the communication and visibility strategy and begin implementing key activities.Explanation:Approximate hours per month: 72 hours (9 days)Approximate hours per week: 18 hours (2.25 days)Year 2 (40 days): Monitor progress, provide ongoing support, and adjust activities based on feedback.Explanation:Approximate hours per month: 56 hours (7 days)Approximate hours per week: 14 hours (1.75 days)Year 3 (54 days): Evaluate the project's impact on visibility and communication, integrate lessons learned, and develop recommendations on sustainability and handover plans for communication and visibility efforts.Explanation:Approximate hours per month: 72 hours (9 days)Approximate hours per week: 18 hours (2.25 days)6. Reporting Requirements and SustainabilityThe Communication & Visibility Specialist will be required to provide regular reports to the Senior Project Manager As the project nears completion, the Communication & Visibility Specialist will be responsible for developing a sustainability plan. This plan will ensure that communication and visibility efforts can continue to support the project's objectives beyond its lifespan, and that local partners are equipped to maintain these activities independently.7. Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field from a recognized institution.Experience:Local Expertise: Minimum of 2 years of experience in communication and visibility roles, preferably within the development or humanitarian sector in Ukraine.Content Creation: Proven experience in creating content for various platforms, including print, digital, and social media.Media Relations: Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with media outlets and coordinating media engagements.Capacity Building: Experience in training and capacity building of local staff and partners in communication and visibility.Skills:Languages: Fluency in Ukrainian is mandatory. Proficiency in English at an intermediate level will be an advantage.Communication Skills: Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.Digital Communication: Experience in managing social media platforms and digital communication campaigns.Competencies:Leadership: Ability to lead communication and visibility initiatives within a multi-disciplinary partner team.Creativity: A creative approach to developing content and communication strategies that engage and inspire the target audience.Ethical Standards: Commitment to upholding high ethical standards in communication, including accuracy, transparency, and respect for cultural differences.8.
