Over 900 team members working across the county in various professional fields.About the jobThe ICRC Water and Habitat Department is seeking a highly capable Water and Habitat Technician with Civil and/or Mechanical and/or Hydraulic and/or Energy engineering background to join our team in Kharkiv. As a team member and in close collaboration with Water and Habitat Project Officers and Managers, a Water and Habitat Technician contributes to development of engineering projects components of Public Utilities Assistance (water & wastewater management) projects (e.g., Mechanical, Hydraulic, Energy Engineering) - small or non-complex engineering projects, monitors on-site works, assists, and carries out needs assessments, and surveys. A Water and Habitat Technician has a close working relationship with external stakeholders related to the Water and Habitat projects.Start date: 01 November 2025Your Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Monitor project implementation for compliance with project documents, ICRC standards, and local building codes/standards
  • Conduct quality control of construction, equipment, machinery and materials (Mechanical and/or Hydraulic and/or Energy Engineering), and prepare reports on project implementation/site progress
  • Conduct quality control during infrastructure design/construction, and prepare reports on project implementation/site progress
  • Prepare and compile site reports on project implementation
  • Assist in identifying and analyzing needs through assessments and surveys
  • Manage project purchasing on labor and materials according to the delegation's logistical and financial rules
  • Develop project documents (drawings, bill of quantities, contracts etc..) for small or non-complex engineering projects using approved formats
  • Train and organize training for end-users in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure installed by the ICRC

For more information, visit the website .About youTo be successful as Water & Habitat Technician in the Water and Habitat Department, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
  • Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • Technical vocational training in mechanical or plumbing or electricity or related disciplines, apprenticeship, or equivalent professional experience
  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience (post-training) in plumbing, electricity, masonry or related disciplines
  • If no certification, 4-5 years professional experience
  • 3-5 years' professional experience in a related field of activity
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical or plumbing or electricity or related disciplines
  • Basic command of English
  • Professional fluency in Ukrainian
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
