For more information, please visit our website: * BackgroundA week after the start of the war in Ukraine, Good Neighbors dispatched the GN emergency response team on 3 March 2022 in Romania and was supporting the Ukrainian refugees with Emergency relief items (food and non-food), transportation, child protection and shelter. In Ukraine, Good Neighbors has proactively delivered emergency aid through their Partners in the areas of Odessa, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Donetsk and Kharkiv Oblasts with a budget of $2.43 million. Now GN are in process of opening its Representative Office in Kyiv. * Purpose of the RoleGood Neighbors is recruiting a dedicated and motivated specialist for the position of Finance Assistant with the aim of supporting the new GN Representative Office (RO) in Ukraine under the supervision of Ukraine Country Director (CD) and Program Manager (PM) and in collaboration with the Global Partnership Center (GPC). The Finance Assistant will support the GN Country Director and Program Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GN internal policies and donor regulations, assisting in financial reporting. Additionally, Finance Assistant will support some administration and/or procurement matters related to finance and accounting functions.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance
  • Assist with day-to-day financial transactions, including data entry into accounting software
  • Prepare and process payments, invoices, receipts, and expense reports
  • Support monthly bank reconciliations and cash reconciliations
  • Maintain archiving of financial documents in both hard and soft copies
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal management and external donors
  • Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts with support of CD and PM
  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the CD and/or PM.
  • Manage and Report Inventory and Asset relating to Finance Statement
  • Support Procurement Committee
  • Engage Training, Workshop, Network internally and externally for Professional Capacity
Administration/Procurement
  • Support with procurement of goods and services necessary for the Office activities, following GN procurement policies and donor requirements
  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase requests, quotations, purchase orders, and contracts
  • Provide administrative support for day-to-day operations, including managing correspondence, filing systems
  • Perform other admin/procurement duties as assigned by CD and/or PM
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Min. 3 year of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, with min 1 year in an NGO
  • Experience in using NGO accounting softwares such as QuickBooks (Intuit), UNANET or SAGA will be considered as a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
